My father was a teacher when teachers taught for the love of teaching, certainly not for the money. Teachers also dressed to inspire respect, another lost art. My dad wore a suit, shirt and tie all day every day to teach junior high and high school students.
My ex husband who retired from his second career about five years ago only to, no surprise here, find he hates being retired and is now into his third career "dresses for success" in each of these. He worked in a paper mill, then ran a warehouse, and is now working in retail. He has never worn the suits, shirts, and ties like my dad, but he dresses appropriately and nicely. Our ******** have never had anything to complain about when it comes to dad dressing "fashionably."
