What about making room for future generations? Opening up jobs for others? By a certain age you should have enough money to support yourself in some manner...and young kids these days are in desperate need of jobs...

Retirement should not be mandatory at any age. Many older people have to work to survive.

By age 99 everyone should retire.. wait.. that is how long we will have to work to pay for Obama's social programs.

When you are dead and buried in the ground. We don't need Social Security, we need jobs for the elderly. In the Bible people lived hundreds of years. And they didn't need Social Security. If you do not trust ***, then slap him in the face by collecting SS benefits. *** has always been against the Government.

I should never be mandatory ever. Work as long as you can.

You shouldn't be forced to retire at a set age if you are still capable of doing the job. As for having enough money to retire by a certain time, that doesn't hold true for everyone. Everyone had different responsibilities and what a couple with two kids can save and a single person with no kids can put away are two very different amounts.

Politicians should be required to retire at age 65.
Those of us in the working classes will never be able to retire as things now stand.

why should anyone be forced to retire? If you're still doing your job & doing it right why should you be forced into retirement? That's a liberal politician idea.

There shouldn't be and in many cases there can't be a retirement age.
As for future generations, many older people still work because employers can not find young people who are responsible enough or willing to do certain none immediately gratifying jobs. There are jobs for young kids who look for them.

Yes I have. Leave out the glowing crystal in the middle and that scene would fit perfectly. They did wear stranger masks in it though, didn't they ? I seem to remember more medieval type ones in it.

Never. if you can keep working and are able to do whatever job you have effectively you should never be forced to stop working.

By age 130 people should be required to retire, even if they've never worked a job covered by a pension plan... if you can't save enough to retire in 100+ years, hang it up.

As long as there is no mandatory pension there can be no mandatory retirement.

Generally 150. In certain jobs 72. In other jobs whenever they can't do the job and they can't go up in the company.

Retirement should come when you want it to. No one should ever tell another when they need to retire. I hope to be a centenarian AND I also hope to still be whirling and twirling!

No age. As long as the person has health should has all the right to work if that is what the person wants or if the economic situation obligues the person to do it. Retirement is a luxury that many people just cannot afford.

There should be no mandatory retirement age.

There should be NO mandatory age. Work till you don't want to anymore. Just like they shouldn't be able to tell you that you have to work at all.

It shouldn't be mandatory unless it is part of an employer mandate. If a person applies for a job with a private company, (Walmart, IBM, etc) and part of the agreement between him and the employer is to retire by a certain age, that agreed upon age should be the mandatory age for retirement. The only other mandatory retirement age would be with the military. Otherwise, it is to work as long as we are able to do our job effectively and well.

Should depend some what on the job

If still willing and able to work at some job why should a person be force to retire?

I don't think it should ever be mandatory. If a person becomes unable to perform well at a job, he/she would be let go. If a person remains capable of performing the job well, it's unfair to force retirement. Infirmities of mind and body visit us soon enough and keep the job market in flux. No sense in forcing the issue.

I don't know why the idea of forcing people to live on a fixed income at a certain age appeals to you. "Ought to have enough money to support yourself in some manner?" How offensive.

When you can afford it and believe you me few can realy afford it.
You have no idea how much longer you will live, and it gets very expensive.

Simply, when you can no longer perform your job satisfactorily.

It depends on the job. Some you can quite literally do until the day you die. Others should be sometime in their forties or fifties if they are highly physically demanding.
