Apple rolled out its iOS 8.3 update -- and with it, came an updated rolodex of diverse emojis. With the new emoji update, users can choose between six different skin tones, same-*** couples, and flags from even more countries.

Apple

In February, when the update was in beta testing, an Apple spokesperson told ABC News that diversity matters to the company: "Apple supports and cares deeply about diversity, and is working with The Unicode Consortium to update the standard so that it better represents diversity for all of us."

What do you think? Are these updated and way-more-diverse emoticons a long time comin'? Or could you not care less about the diversity of animated characters inside of your phone?

I don't use emojis, because they're really ******* stupid. But it seems like everyone else does, so it's good that they've included some diversity now.

I suppose such releases are earth shattering news to those who enjoy paying five times as much for an electronic device just so they can be trendy, but I couldn't care less if you pumped me full of Xanax.

Why are people complaining about this? Even if you didn't care, how could a more diverse cast be anything but a positive?
