Anywhere they'll need somebody else to bail them out. We only have a reasonable guarantee of safety here in the First World.

Americans should never venture into places ruled over by our sworn enemies. Like Democrat campaign rallies.

anywhere.... and I too agree with sockpuppet.. if you enter a country that lives in pre modern era.. and the rule of law is up for grabs.. yeah I don't think I'd go there... I'm happy here in N. America... and I have traveled the world.. some places I'd like to go again.. others I'd like to see, but the danger level for tourists is toooo tooo high...So I may never get to see some places in person, but thats fine.. there are many other places countries or cities that are safe enough to explore and discover...but safety is now the utmost thought in my consciousness.......

Two questions: 1) Where would you work as a contractor and 2) What countries are your friends working in that are so dangerous and which ones would be stupid to go to as a civilian?

Here's the thing. I've been around the world in the Army. I've fought in hostile countries. There are many countries that despise the US and Americans. Some of my fellow Veteran buddies currently work in these anti-American countries. I told my wife that I will do contract work over there as soon as a 6-figure salary emerges for me. I will not risk my life for less than $100,000/year (tax free). As for civilian tourists ever going to these places, it is beyond stupid, suicidal, and foolish.

I would suggest TX for winters and home for summers! But that doesn't work sometimes. In a perfect world right? LOL.

Thanks you too Sheila. and I totally agree about the snow issue. I would prefer year round warmth for motorcycle riding, but haven't found the right scenario yet to work with my personal paradigm....

I grew up about 30 miles east of Toronto (oshawa area), and about 15 years ago moved to a small lakeside community about 3 hours from TO. I absolutely love it here, and love Canada in general. I feel very lucky to be Canadian, and I am super grateful we have such wonderful allies and friends as the US. Although our countries are separate and distinct, we really are one.... and I feel at home and welcome almost anywhere in North America..... We are lucky lucky lucky.....

My Mom was Canadian from Toronto. She became a naturalized citizen because of my Dads job. Had to for his security clearance. But I LOVE Canada. Used to spend summers in Toronto. Miss it. Havent been in years now...

What a strange question... If there were NOT places that Americans should not go then why would the state dept keep lists of places Americans shouldn't go?

For vacation, recreation, trade, etc.: Syria, Iran, and the middle east. Cuba and North Korea too.

The US Military is another story.
