Get a cooler with lots of ice (food would last 3 to 5 days, depending on the cooler)

cooler

A Power Generator (Power for a limited amount of time) (I personally don't have one, at the moment, but hopefully one day)

have a power regenator

If you have insurance (use it)

Your temps outside will be below zero. Put the food in a sealed box and put it on your porch. It will probably freeze.

If you have an ice chest pack the food in snow from outside.

Open the door no more than necessary; the temperature will hold for several hours. More than that, put as many bags of ice inside as will fit; this will work as long as you keep replacing the ice.

Put food into coolers in the garage. Bears get it in the back yard.

Open refrigerator door as little as possible. Set frozen food to thaw in refrig to help keep cool. Eat well. Your nice neighbors will dig you out I am sure, SJ.

Loosen tops of bottled water and freeze them. (loosen tops slightly or bottles will burst when frozen) Put the frozen water bottles upright in a chest cooler and put your food in the chest with the frozen water. This will keep your food and no mess to clean out of cooler later.

If I lived in a place where power outages could be a thing from bad weather, I'd make sure I always had one ready.

Stay home, stay safe and stay warm..... good luck, maybe it won't be as bad as they are predicting..... they predicted heavy snow for us last night and we didn't get any.
