We'll admit it: we STILL wear bootcut
jeans. And it turns out, we're far from alone. According to an infographic released by eBay, sales of bootcuts on the auction site still surpass any other style by a landslide -- including the uber-trendy skinny
jean. Take that, hipsters!
Unlike most hipsters, we'll admit that we're just a little bit ... hippy. Which is why bootlegs look best on us. And Katie Holmes likes them too, which makes us feel a bit better!
"Specific jean styles come and go all the time, but women will always love their bootcut jeans. They're classic, all age-appropriate and are the most forgiving of all styles -- especially if you're a bit hippy. The wider hem balances everything out," eBay's Fashion Creative Director, Andrea Linett, told The Daily Mail.
Among the 3 million pairs of jeans purchased on eBay over the past year, 793,289 pairs were bootcut. Straight leg came in second with 215,353 pairs sold, and skinny jeans came in third with 214,405 pairs sold.
Here's one more piece of good news. Jeggings, which were annoyingly trendy last year, came in 10th place with just 11,616 pairs sold. OK, we'll admit it: We wish we looked good in jeggings. But until we shrink, we're sticking with flattering bootcut jeans. How about you?
