Red-soled Christian Louboutin shoes have become a status symbol as of late, and so far, their largest customer base has been comprised of trust-fund babies, debutantes and celebrities... but it looks like Louboutin is ready to branch out.

For all the computer nerds out there with $1,700 to drop on shoes, you might want to invest in the Louboutin Lady Peep "Geek" pumps. They are embroidered with a "microchip inspired" pattern that includes numbers and sequins. I really like the look of these pumps, but I'll have to wait for another company to knock them off because the price is a bit too steep for me.. but what do you think? Are these Louboutins geeky or great?

I think they're great but I would wear them once and hate them after that. Geek is out of the question, smart people wouldn't spend that much on shoes.

With those prices, bare feet will become fashionable once again!

They are overpriced, but then overpriced IS a fashion trend.

You make a good point but I believe valuables like cars, houses, boats should have to be protected........a pair of shoes, they are going to far. I respect your opinion though.

personally i would not spend so much money on shoes. i LOVE shoes.. and for the price of these cute pumps i could buy several kitschy, kinky, fun, comfy shoes - but i do not deny these are cute (^_^)

Doesn't really matter how fugly they are, stupid people will still waste their money on them.

I just think they're a huge waste of money for slightly dorky shoes.

...but to tall, I don't think a "geek" will wear them anyway. Converse are way better. :)

meanwhile, in big city 'hoods' the so-called "gangsta" teens are shooting each other over 100 dollar sneakers. i think it is just a matter of perspective really. If you invest money into some possession, a mobile smartphone, an android tablet, an overpriced handbag, expensive jewelry. or overpriced shoes.. it only makes sense to want to have a way to protect that investment?

They're geeky and that's part of what makes them great! :) Why mutually exclusive with this option?

Good for a topless dancer, they're the only ones of us commoners that have enough money to buy them anymore.

I'm sure glad I don't have my girlfriend (now my wife) wear spiked heals to bed anymore, they always used to puncture the water bed. Talk about water breaking? wear spiked heals bed puncture water bed talk water breaking

(I've tried it....she won't do it anymore..the heals)

If you have that kind of money to throw away on the shoes, who cares if they get stolen. Just buy another pair.

Anything this overpriced is just catering to status seekers.
Style should just be about style not making some rich guys even richer.

The shoes are great but when you buying shoes you have to buy an theft chip, you don't need them. Shoes are for glamor and not for ransom money,it takes the glamor out of them. What will you need next a computerize home system to watch your shoes? Christian Louboutin, your **** shoes should be in a vault, they are too **** expensive!

But geeky is great.

I detest high heels, but I voted great because no geek would be stupid enough to actually wear such high heels that could easily injure her in many different ways.

It's actually a really nice design... I would totally wear them!

Any chic geek may like them...or a geek's wife :)

I wouldn't pay the outrageous price for them, but my husband would get a kick out of me wearing them :)

Microchiped for what? in case you lose them, if you are that much of a dolt that you loose your expensive footwear then you deserve to loose them.

Hey! Whatever melts your ******! Style after all is about chasing away boredom so if it fits wear it! If you like it. Isn't geek the new cool? But no; it shouldn't cost a king's ransom.

I am mostly just relieved it isn't what I was thinking when I read Microchip. It could always be something else. First our pets. Then our seniors. Then . . .

Let's don't and say we did. I have no problem with changing fashion. Enough said.

they are both geeky AND great! They are sadly overpriced and i am only waiting for the more trendy and available shoe stores to pick up on this idea and make their own geek chic fashion footwear!

Geeky, but great! Geeky doesn't mean bad, or it shouldn't. So while I vote Geeky, I think they are truly great.

MORE CHOICES NEEDED HERE.
I like the look but in such a high heel, there isn't much that it would go with.
A wedgie would be more practical, and ditto on the knock-offs.
Is there a matching purse?
