My mother used to do that too, but she would redeem them in person at the store instead of mailing it in.

I look through the books and then order off internet. To me it more faster and easier.

I rarely go shopping in stores and used catalogs for years and now use internet as well. I still get gangs of catalogs and they are still fun to flip through; just the internet is faster.

Yes! My mother and sister saved the green stamps and put them in those little booklets.

School clothes and Christmas gifts were always catalogue orders. Sears, Penneys, Montgomery Wards were always sitting on the *** table in the living room. :)

What about S&H Green Stamps? Remember those, they had a mail order catalog too.

Do you remember when J.C. Penney and Sears had a catalog department? Those are things of the past now. Those were the good ole days for sure.

Especially when overseas. We shopped Sears, Penney's, Montgomery Ward's, the Exchange Catalog, and, to the bane of the Battalion Mail Clerk, Yield House colonial furniture.

Christmas gifts for faraway family members were always great to send gift packages direct from the source.

**** good question!

No I didn't ever buy anything from mail order magazines and you know it's probably for the same reason I don't buy anything on line and won't buy anything on line except for information.

I have to hold what ever it is I am buying, I have to test things, try them on and most importantly I have to look in the face of who I am buying from.

Sears catalog.. you could order if you paid in full they would send it to your house or store.. Or you could have it sent to the local store and make payments. They stopped the catalog in 1993...I still miss that big wish book!

No I rarely bought anything from mail order. I might order through a store like Sears but that is it.
