I was a ninja before it was fashionable.
Both my mother and my wife have complained that I move too quietly and *** up startling them.
My mother even suggested I wear a bell.

If I'm wearing heels or flip flops, this is true... However if I'm wearing sneakers, I tend to be very quiet. My husband, however, is always very loud. He has flat feet and I made sure he got a first floor apartment when we were engaged because I worry about disturbing neighbors. I don't worry at all now that we own our own house.

There is an unprepossessing ********** by many a modern woman that impersonating male behaviour somehow makes her equal. That said, the problem is undoubtedly cheap footwear. I had the sheer unmitigated delight of telling my Member of Parliament once that I wouldn't trust anyone as far as I could throw a grand piano when they dressed in factory-made shoes. He was a traditional Tory toff and took it very personally - which, of course, I had intended.

Nope, some people just shuffle their feet or drag their feet when they walk.

A lot of it depends on the shoes.

Smaller people seem to be heavy walkers. I lived with this girl one time and she would stomp around like the floor was going to cave in. You were hear her coming down the hall barefoot with loud thumps.

My Daddy was a hunter and taught me to walk quietly and I always have. I won't wear shoes that are loud. It's irritating.

I've got these new leather shoes that sound like someone farting every time I take a step. Impossible to sneak up on anyone.

But some people don't bend their ankles when they walk and land on their whole foot rather than their toes. This is why they sound like Clydesdales.

Depends if I am wearing heels or not.

Not true, it is how they are taught to walk. Some family think that dragging your feet and shuffling is acceptable. My family always considered it extremely rude.
