Both my parents and my husband had diabetes.
They are all dead now.
Diabetes played a role in all three deaths.

I blame it on our excessive eating of refined wheat flour.
That particular processed starch turns into glucose as soon as it is digested.
We need to stop eating so much rolls, pizza, spaghetti, wontons and bread.
We need to eat more vegetables and lean fish and poultry.
We also need to make more use of corn breads and tortillas instead of wheat breads.

I Hear you on that one :). I myself am Vegan and I am into the healthy things. I believe it depends on what brand of breads as well because ALOT of breads have a lot of sugar and even though some breads say wheat some also have eggs and milk which also where the milk and eggs come from those animals are given steroids and who knows what else, and people eat and consume the same thing that was given to the animals. I know 2 people who aren't obese at all and they have Diabetes a lot of times its genetic which *****.

Where did I say "obese"?
Our bodies use bile and other self-generated chemicals to break down the food that we eat into simpler more cell-soluble organic compounds.
I am saying that processed wheat flower becomes glucose aka "blood sugar".
I will agree with you that obesity can also be a contributing factor, but losing weight alone will not keep anybody from getting type 2 diabetes.
I believe a diet of fresh vegetables with a small abount of fish and lean meat will do a much better job.
I'm living proof. When my husband died my fasting blood glucose level was between 117 and 119. I changed my diet and now it is around 93 to 95.
