Well, more just wading in the water and splash around with friends or family. I'm not great at swimming. Also I'll play on the sand and look at the...scenery.

Actually, neither. We have a tropical storm off the coast producing rip currents, not to mention rain.

At beaches it's more about battling the waves than swimming, though... Usually I swim in the lake behind my grandparents' house. ^^

The ocean water it too contaminated and cold. The sand is ***** too. I don't go to the beach anymore. The Farallon Islands 30 miles out side of the Golden Gate Bridge is a radioactive dump site. what do you think is in the water when the tied comes in? San Francisco should have radiation signs on San Francisco Beaches.

Actually, I'm usually at the bar or tucked up under a tree with a book and a drink with an umbrella in it. I'm a natural red head and burn to a crisp quickly at the beach.

I really hate both open water (oceans, lakes, etc.) and sand.

I like pools, but I don't have one or know any rich people who do. I haven't been swimming in years!

I love swimming; but given the choice, I would not go to the beach at all. They don't make an SPF high enough for my pasty skin.
