So alright;

When people use the colloquialism
*, "If you can't stand the heat, then get the **** out of kitchen," the sentiment being conveyed generally means that if one cannot withstand any criticism from others, then perhaps one should not ever pursue any ********* which could potentially be criticized.

colloquialism heat kitchen sentiment conveyed generally criticism pursue endeavors criticized

Because that's what we humans inherently DO; we judge and criticize ourselves, each other, and our environment around us.

In fact, I can't think of a single faction or aspect of life where that is not the case; in school, in church, at work, in the media, you name it - there's always going to be someone somewhere, observing, evaluating, forming opinions and critiquing.

It's a behavior which is thoroughly embedded throughout the structure of our entire society.

media observing evaluating forming opinions critiquing behavior embedded structure society

And it's been said many times before;

"If you have no critics, you'll likely have no success."

Now, it's no secret that I am someone who is highly critical;
and I make no bones about that. It's part of who I am.

In fact, I'm like many people in that I'm often my own worst critic; so if
I'm not easy on myself, then I'm sure as **** not going to 'be gentle' on anyone else.

times critics success secret highly critical bones people critic gentle

But contrary to what my ever-growing legion of ****-hurt haters seem to think, I can take whatever I dish out, and then some.

In fact, without naming names, I'll share two of my most recent and harshest criticisms that came down 'from on high'; and then I'll attempt to evaluate just how "accurate" it is:

Quote:

>>>"The only people that make this site bad unfortunately are people like you who continue to attack and spew hatred. It is truly amazing and sad how angry of a person you are..."<<<

>>>"
I'll just keep asking.

Why are you here if you hate the site{... }so
much?

You do nothing by speak ill of the site and put everyone down.

If someone post something you don't agree with you attack in a very hateful manner.
...

It really is kind of ridiculous."
*** quote.

speak ill site post attack hateful manner ridiculous ltltlt quote

Huh.

Like I've never heard such commentary about myself like that before.

attack hateful manner ridiculous ltltlt quote huh ive heard commentary

But it did get me to thinking; could there actually be any truth to that **********?

If I'm really such a 'horrible detriment' to this site, then it should be fully evident in my recent activity, right?

So this is where the "litmus test" part of this poll comes in.

Below I've posted my current activity feed, which covers the last 48 hours or so; and which any member can see for themselves, by going to my profile page.

http://www.********.com/user/feed/1955256/melizmatic/

current activity feed covers 48 member profile httpwww sodahead comuserfeed1955256melizmatic

And you know what's interesting?

The only
really recent negative interaction that I can isolate is an exchange on a post about Joan Rivers not being mentioned at the Oscars, of all subjects...

But maybe it's possible that I'm just being uncharacteristically 'too easy' on myself right now;
After all, it's rather **** to be completely unbiased about one's self, if not downright impossible at times.

So I guess I'll just let the members at large be the judge, and I'll even go one step further, by issuing a Melizmatic Challenge:

If you are so inclined, go to your own public profile, and click on your personal activity feed (not your '********', but your own individual feed.)

Once you're there, tak

What is the problem with other opinions even if you are being thrown to the dog ? Live a little and be big enough to take criticism. It is a big world. Not just yours.

I think Harry S Truman is the one who said, "If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen."

Behind my desk at my law office, I have this quotation of Theodore Roosevelt: "It is **** to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed."

Sounds like some needless and expensive legal problems, just waiting to happen.

Also, why censor yourself?

That kinda takes the impact out of your statement.
