Each state is different, with its own culture and politics. Different parties seem to do most of the dividing, and there's probably no way brutal competition would ever work with one another, so metaphorically, it's like we're still in Civil War. East vs West, South vs North.

In today's time, there are many countries in which civil war is going on so I believe we are not free from civil war ghost.

No state has a unified culture - all of them are hodgepodges.....

And we never had a Civil War in the USA. The War Between the States was not where 2 armed factions were fighting over the control of the central government (The English Civil War was, in fact, a civil war with Parlianment on one side and the King on the other). It was a failed attempt by the CSA to break away from the USA and becoime an independent nation.

We are divided ideologically. While states and regions may lean one way or another, our society is no longer one where people tend to live their whole lives in one area, or even one where our family and hometown exert great influence over our lifelong views on politics or social issues.

My great grandparents lived in England and Germany. They never participated in the civil war.

IMO, no...more like still suffering the effects of a failed reconstruction...

That is one way of looking at it. But it doesn't take into consideration the fluidity of the US population. For example my grandparents were from OK, NY, OH & Europe and my ******** and grand kids live in PA, NJ, MI & CA and I have cousins in MT, WY and HI.

I wouldn't say "Still", But I do think we are in a civil war. Not a war of the states like before, but a war of left vs right. There is obviously a war going on.

I don't really think so, because everywhere there is a variety of people and not all people in one region think or live the same way, they just have differently-proportioned numbers of different kinds of people.
