It looks like binge-drinking is on the rise. According to a recent study published in the American Journal of Public Health, binge drinking among women rose nearly 36 percent between 2002 and 2012 while binge drinking among men rose 23 percent over the same time span.

Though the study found that men are still more likely to binge drink overall, Ali Mokdad, a lead author of the study said that it looks like women are "trying to catch up to the men."

What do you think of these new findings? Do you thing Americans are binge-drinking more than they did a decade ago? And if so, do you see it as a problem? Sound off on your thoughts about this study.

Simply because of the 21 rules. Most other countries, alcohol is accepted at 18 or younger. Areas of the world where it's even younger have way lower"binge drinking" problem. The problem is the US.

I really don't know but I imagine they could be because of all the stress going on
in everyone's lives.

By the same token, people are more concerned with health and fitness these days
so maybe they are not. **** to say.

Well now...please explain what Binge Drinking means and or all that is entailed with this "Binge Drinking" subject matter.

OK...I just read the article but I am thinking of "Binge Drinking" as being drunk, as in slobbering and drooling drunk for weeks at a time drinking 2 cases of beer per day or 2 bottles of **** liquor per day, as that is the binge drinking I knew growing up around "some people" that I knew that were drunk everyday for weeks ...and then go back to work and make some more money and stay sober for awhile...sort of...while obtaining more money from their good paying Union iron working jobs...and then, in between jobs, go on a one week or 2 week drunken "Binge"...again.

That is binge drinking in all its glory.....

Meantime, drinking more than the national average ****** qualifies you as a binge drinker....rather a person who is "alcohol buzzed" more often.

Ahhhhh...but media sensationalism is alive and well.....lol

Cheers

Maybe, but I don't see why some folks are so concerned with how others choose to live their lives in this country.
