I think that I was about 3 when I spotted my first gray hair. Then at 5 my hair started thinning, and my beard started to gray as well. So I had my mother go to the drugstore and pick up some "Just for Old Babies" advanced formula!

My job at the time was to do interviews and backgrounds on applicants applying for a position with the company. I had just got the 20 year high school reunion when I realize that most of the individuals applying for a job with my company weren't even alive when I graduated. Talk about feeling old...

I'm 71, and I don't feel old at all. I keep fit, and eat right, and keep my mind alert. It's all in the head how old you feel.

I actually remember waking up one day when I was 26, and knowing it. I've never felt quite the same as I did the day before.

I'll be 66 next week, and I'm not there yet. My mother is 90, and she's still not "old". "Old" is a state of mind.

In reading the responses I notice that for a large part, the younger people (kids to us) believe they feel old, while the more mature people still feel young. Here are the people with their long, entire lives before them yet, their best yet to come, and they feel old already. Perhaps they have not yet learned what "old" is, or they fail to appreciate the gifts they are given, the value and promise of years yet to come. There seems to be some kind of irony here, but it eludes me at the time.

They are the gimmee generation. It's **** work sitting on your fat **** all day. It ages you prematurely.

Perhaps. Maybe some of them could explain exactly why they feel old. What actually is it they expect out of life that makes them feel they have aged beyond their physical years, especially when so many who are actually older still have a young outlook. We all have to grow up, we never have to grow old.
