New York's got the aggressive drivers and Los Angeles has the terrifying traffic... but are these cities home to the worst drivers in America? Apparently not. Because that award apparently goes to Boston, Massachusetts.

Shutterstock.com

According to a report conducted by Allstate Insurance, Boston actually has the worst drivers in America, with a Boston driver getting into a collision every 4.4 years on average. (Allstate gathered collision damage data from 2011 and 2012 to reach these statistics.)

What do you think of Boston being considered the home of the worst drivers in America? Do you agree? And how do you feel about your own driving? Sound off.

some would say I am a good driver as I've not had a ticket or accident for many many years. However, I know I could pay more attention sometimes.

There are two things that make a bad driver, impatient and quick to react in anger! You gotta pay attention and stay calm, cool, collected. So many peaple act like total idiots on the road from being in a hury all the time, and put others at risk. Or not paying attention by...TALKING ON THE CELL PHONE, hint hint! The road is a dangerous place!

But I'd have to say, despite not as many accidents, St. Louis has the absolute worst drivers and the police neglect to enforce any regulations, based off what I've seen. It actually makes me wonder as to why there are any lights, signs, or road markings here at all....

Not sure Boston Drivers are the worst but it's a very congested city with lots of weird angles and confusing merges and one-ways and roads that seem to suddenly *** that did not develop with automobiles in mind .... probably lends itself to accidents. Scariest places to me are the sprawl cities where apparently people believe a speed limits are a challenge to double. I've seen some real horrible deadly crash scenes around Phoenix, Vegas and Albuquerque. When you crash a 90MPH bad things happen.

I've driven in Boston. I'm not sure the drivers there are all that much worse than in many other large cities that I've driven.

I raced sporadically for thirty-five years and was a driving instructor for three.

Boston has worse drivers than South Florida?
I didn't think that was possible.
But statistics don't lie.

but all of the south florida drivers are from boston and newark

I doubt it.
Majority of people in South Florida are Hispanic and from either Cuba, Latin America or South America.

Driving is a skill. My dad who was a pilot taught me to drive, and allowed me the privelege of driving to become proficient. I learned to drive when the interstate highways were still under construction, and had to learn to judge speed and distance in order to pass on 2-lane highways.

Other drivers scare the crap out of me, to be honest. And by the way, those who ever drive in front of me: I can TELL by the way your car is swerving that you're on the **** phone, people - GET OFF OR PULL OVER!!

California has proved that, even though they made it a law to drive without touching a mobile device, people STILL DO IT. The state needs to hire me to specifically hand out tickets to these violators, because there never seems to be a cop around to catch someone on their phone - instead, THEY CONGREGATE TOWARD ME. Must be my luck.

Then again, I live in a state where the driver behind me starts to tailgate, and flips me off when I lightly tap the brakes to send them the message that they're too **** close.

I've never been to Boston, but one drive up and down the Central Valley, go through Bay Area traffic, and/or put yourself in ******-to-****** L.A. stuff with the selfish idiots that think the right of way is theirs no matter what, and I'd say you've pretty much been through enough to want to rage quit driving altogether.

I swear, I need to hook myself up with one of these:

Over all I think I'm a pretty good driver, but not as good as I used to be. I had professional driving lessons and raced sport cars for a time. I learned a lot of defensive stills most people on the road aren't even aware of. That doesn't make me great though. Until quite recently I get behind the wheel a lot and every so often I try to reevaluate how I'm doing and what bad habits I may have picked up and there's always something I need to work on. Whatever I started doing I hope I stop before I get a ticket or something bad happens.

The statistics that made Boston drivers the worst might actually mean they drive under the worst conditions - not that THEY are especially bad. A lot of Boston roads were designed without cars in mind.

I've been in the car with drivers that scare the bejeezus out of me. They think they're terrific because they've never had a ticket or an accident but are completely oblivious to the wreckage they've left in their wake.

I learned how to drive in California.

The wait on line, let you in when you need to, and all in all are good drivers. Certainly compared to where I live now.

part of the problem with Boston has to do with the narrow, winding streets there.

Actually, for the worst drivers, try Montreal!

Very good now....when I was younger I drove too fast ......PS-- nobody is a good driver who talks on the phone or reads/sends text messages when driving , just like being drunk....turn the **** cell phone off when you get behind the wheel

The problem is that one bad driver can offset 100 good drivers.

But I say you want a driving adventure, come to New Mexico. We've got it all, illegal aliens without license, registration, or insurance. Drunk drivers by the ********. Dumb kids that text and drive. Arrogant Audi and Mercedes drivers that think they have a special license to cut across lanes whenever they want. It's always an adventure getting in the car here.
