dude, i'm part of America's youth, and hopefully the rest don't care like me, cause I know people all over the world like me, don't really care anymore.
what's this all gonna mean in the future anyways? "2015 ways to start a war"???
what are politics gonna be worth when we (the future of the world) decide we have had enough of our predecessors bull S***, and live in a peaceful world without war?

It looks like the election showed that people are starting to understand how bad the current policies are for the nation.

No, Sweetie,...

Ignorance is pretending that Obama invented the Executive Order.

Nope - anyone who takes seriously the results of an election where 37.8% of the registered voters voted (and 64% of the eligible voters are registered, so therefore what - a bit more than 20% of the eligible voters voted) and that 37.8% skewed approximately 20 years older, quite a bit wealthier and considerably more conservative, where the more conservative party won by about 4% in raw votes nationally - and says that means the national mood of people in general is shifting, is self-deluding.

And to think it is meaningless is even more self-deluding.

I did not say it was meaningless, I said that it was not a sign of any shift in the underlying dynamic. We have had a problem getting voters out for decades, and the Republicans have been glad to deliberately attempt to worsen that, even making it part of their recognized strategy in some cases. Bannock failed abysmally. A sixty million dollar failure - and one in which I and a lot of people I know were heavily invested either through donations or direct work (like walking precincts) or both (I did both). So a new strategy is called for. In 1968 - long before I was arguing politics - Richard Nixon won on a strategy of turning out a large segment of the electorate that favored his ideas but did not vote - potential voters who were far to the Right of the active electorate. My parents were involved in that effort and it worked. Now the large segment of the electorate that doesn't vote is on the Left, the few studies done have confirmed a bias at least 10 points left of the active electorate. So its the condition that Nixon faced in 1968 - in reverse. I am not blind to that, but thinking that the underlying dynamic now favors the Right is, from the perspective of the Right, self-destructive -- in the same way that thinking that the underlying dynamic favored them in 196...

By the way, what is it with some on the Right that they ignore what you say and try to project what they wish you'd said into your words? I really don't get that. My parents, may they rest in Light, never did that, though they were conservative - but - to be fair - we have been politically active on one side or the other since before the Revolutionary War. So maybe we are the odd ones out.

And that is entirely your right. That's the idea of democracy and of a free society. We can hold basically opposed opinions, based on facts or fancy and still be united in our support for our great nation.

I won't be hopeful for this country until the last Democrat (Socialist, Communist, Progressive or what ever alias they wish to call themselves) is out of office at every level of representative government.

It is their government control and dependence philosophy that is poisoning our once-free Liberty-loving country.

The sooner we get back to Constitutional founding principles of Life, Liberty, and the HONEST pursuit of happiness, the better off our legal citizens shall be.

We are the sovereign nation of the United States of America!
Now think, folks: Which party is actively sorting our citizens out into tightly controlled groups? Who wants us to celebrate our diversity, yet uses that diversity against us as a unified nation?

Remember this? It's time we got back to that! Don't allow the Democrat smear machine tear our country apart by corralling us into neat, organized categories (women, blacks, ****, etc...) we're ONE nation with ONE nation identity of LEGALLY present citizens and LEGALLY present resident aliens. Don't know much history do you? The Revolutionary War was run by a group of elites - we call them the founders, and they were good men - my great grandfather 12 times removed being one of the lesser lights int he Continental Army - but they were elites - primarily for their own benefit and the benfit of those like them -- which certainly did not include most of the people who post on this board. America was and is a free country - and among other things having a free and democratic society means that the people get to decide a lot of things - so if people choose to have a Libertarian, Communist or middle of the road society - that is their right. America has proved over and over that it can survive the challenges of democratic change and will crush anti-democratic change (remember the Whiskey Rebellion?) Sometimes a lot of people vote (2008, 2012) sometimes fewer people vote (2010, 2014) and the results reflect the skew of the electorate (in off years smaller, older, richer and more conservative) not sweeping changes in the underlying views of the electorate. In 08 and 12 nearly everyone I know turned out and voted for Obama, in 10 and 14 my partner and I were the only ones out of our entire friendship group who voted, and our friendship group is quite large. In 08 and 12 nearly everyone I know turned out and voted for Obama, in 10 and 14 my partner and I were the only ones out of our entire friendship group who voted, and our friendship group is quite large. The country is, in my opinion, still run largely by a small group of elites. GW Bush and John Kerry belonged to the same fraternity in college for the sake of goodness, and its a frat that only introduces 12 new members per year TOTAL. Clinton and Obama have not belonged to that group of elites, neither does Biden (Gore did). Part of the reason for the enormous anger at Clinton and Obama, the part that is never mentioned, is that it is fed by very wealthy elites, who do not like outsiders having power. *shrug* Again, the nature of democracy. Regardless, ultimately, when the people get roused, they decide - and unlike 1968, the majority of the Americans not voting now are, as the few indepth studies that have looked at them have shown, substantially to the left of those who do, not to the right.

Kind thoughts,

Same inept and fanatical president. Same congress more dedicated to getting reelected than helping the people. Same corrupt IRS persecuting political opponents. Same corrupt bureaucrats more interested in expanding their power than obeying the law or advancing the nation.

What is there to be hopeful about?

Take a look at the people about to enter the voting arena..the young people that are just turning to that age where they can influence the course our nation is taking in the world, by voting for the leaders they think will guide us there. This is the best way to answere that
question. I don't have a whole lot of faith in their ability to sort things out and do the due dilligence required to make an informed selection of those leaders. Matter of fact I don't have a whole lot of faith in those older ****** in their ability to make the right decisions either. As a once great nation...my ********* is; we've dumded down to our present state
We've apparently evolved into what we are inherantly. A nation of diverse mixture of red necks, race baiters, law breakers, greedy money grubbers, ireligious, self centered, neighbor haters, animal loving morons, who over indulge everything from food to drugs and booze, to *** and violence and every other nasty ******* that they can come up with.
Don't get me wrong I still think there is hope for us all to survive on this earth, but the chances are getting slimmer every year with the things we are doing to destroy both the earth and us in it. Call me a dreamer but I still hope we can find a way to make it through this year and maybe the next one and beyond.......LOL

We're not going to come back from this recession. What happened with Wall Street is what got us into this mess in the first place and I thought Obama was going to help put an *** to Capitalism, I guess not. I'm DONE relying on a human to try to fix everything, after what happened with 9/11 and how they handled it I quit trusting the Government a long time ago. I should know, because 2014 was a REALLY Bad year for El Paso. We had this City manager named Joyce Wilson and we never needed one before, so anyway this witch tore down City Hall to build a stupid baseball stadium. We already have a baseball stadium here and it's not being used, she did this without our consent and we did everything we could to stop the demolition from happening and we even started an investigation to see if there was any harm done and got the state involved, but it didn't help at all. We finally got the witch voted out of the office, but she did get a job here though. Florida offered her a job, but she didn't take it because the money was not enough (scoffs) and she even moved The Insights Science Museum somewhere else to make room for the stadium. That stadium cost us a lot of money and she got the money to build the stadium from the taxpayers. The City Hall building was built around the 80's.

El Paso City Hall

El Paso City Hall

El Paso City Hall

Before that witch came to El Paso, the city's original plan was to remodel it and as you can see there was absolutely nothing wrong with the building. Which is why I'm going to stop voting altogether.

If you knew anything about Communism (today's progressive, Democrat, Liberal etc...), you would come to realize that Government-centered autocracy is incompatible with the tenants of the Constitution and the Declaration.

If you dare to believe that Communism is the way to go, they may I suggest you tell your Democrat candidates to RUN as Communists! Tell the TRUTH about what they stand for instead of hide behind falsehoods about what they truly stand for!

If you don't believe that Communism is contrary to the founding of this nation, then may I suggest you compare what you're defending against the founding documents, thus:

SHOW us all where they condoned such a heavy hand of government power:

The Declaration of Independence:

The US Constitution:

Oh, and for contrast -- more specifically, what you are espousing as one of today's progressives is the Communist Manifesto:
