My choice is 1963 Split Window Corvette, nothing today touches it, nothing. And I can work on it when it breaks down without any computer hook ups. Hands down this is the ultimate ride. window corvette touches work breaks hook ups hands ultimate ride window corvette touches work breaks hook ups hands ultimate ride

I like that I can work on my old cars. I can't do anything at all to my new ones.

60's for sure: you could easily work on them yourself. The easiest to maintain, and the one with the best handling, was the Corvair. I owned one, and once took it at 70mph on a winding mountain road with absolutely no tire noise. If you wanted more power, then mount a V-8 in the back seat. Although I never owned one, I heard this mid-engine hybrid (Called the Corv-8) had even greater stability and a very nice hp/weight ratio!

Great Question! Not as easy to answer as it seemed at first glance. I think there was a wider range of options in the 60's, more creativity, more differentiation. Today, there are echoes of the past, but they are all very similar. Also, they are safer, and there are some really cool gadgets. They are ****** difficult to work on now, perhaps way too many electronics. If I had to pick one and only one, it would be the 60's.

For performance, safety and handling I would want a new car.

For design and aesthetics I would want one from the 60's

**** one to call with some of the latest new vehicles coming out like the new Camaro. But my all time favorite is the 1969 Z/28 Camaro RS with the dealer installed crossram carbuetors. Very fast and nice looking.

The looks of 60s cars and the dependability, handling, and milage of new cars. Most new cars look too much alike.

Regardless about your opinion of Ralph Nadar, the book he wrote on auto safety forced changes in how cars are built. The Corvair for example was a death car until Nadar shed light on it's poor safety record. cars built corvair death car nadar light poor safety record
"Did Ralph Nader ruin the rep for Corvairs?", Sherri, did you really ask that question? You are a bonehead!
