One way to deal with rude people is to return their rudeness with a smile.

At a store check out or at a restaurant, I normally greet the service personnel with a loud and clear "Good morning / afternoon / evening. You look great today!" before they have a chance to show their colour!

You can definitely get a better treatment!

Absolutely! I especially like to say "Oh, excuse me" when someone runs into me without saying a word... or say "thank you" to the cashier who doesn't say two words to me. :)

I always smile, say Thank you, excuse me and just generally try to be polite to people. Everybody needs to do their own little part to make this world a nicer place to be

If they don't acknowledge, I would repeat louder.

We think alike! Would you believe some still won't say anything even after the second time?! Unbelievable! Good manners are becoming extinct!

One of favorite subject I taught was how to deal with difficult people. I do have a few tricks up my sleeve.

Remember it takes two to Tango.
