acid trip is making the rounds on the Web, but we have to wonder: Is it real or fake?
Biographer Don Lattin stumbled upon the footage of a 1956 researcher dosing volunteers at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Los Angeles, the Daily Mail reports.
Before the experiment, the housewife refers to herself as a "normal" person.
"My husband is an employee here at the VA and he said they were looking for normal people, so I volunteered," she says.
She then downs LSD dissolved into a glass of water. Three hours later, she appears to be having a very good trip.
"Everything is in color and I can feel the air. I can see it, I can see all the molecules -- I'm part of it. Can't you see it?" she tells the researcher, Dr. Sidney Cohen.
Cohen then asks, "How do you feel inside?"
She replies: "Inside? I don't have any inside."
The viral video has been viewed more than 500,000 times on YouTube, where many have wondered if the video -- which seems almost campy in 2011 -- is a fake.
And while LSD can lead to "bad trips" that cause fear, anxiety and even suicide, there's no denying that this housewife had a good time.
