I have naturally blonde hair, Ive dyed it platinum blonde, then brown and then i added a red but that practically all faded but theres still a little bit of a red tint.
As you can probably tell, I want red hair and I heard you have to bleach it before you dye it red to get a bright red but I dont wanna ruin my hair as I have bleached it before and not long ago changed it to brown.
Ive got a goldenish blonde hair dye that i was going to use instead before I dye it red.
Opinions on this ?
Thanks <3

I've had quite a bit of dyeing experience, so I'll try to give you a little advise.
If you recently bleached your hair, you should honestly probably wait a while to do anything else drastic to your hair. Or, you should use some really good conditioning treatments before and after doing it again.
The most common way to get that bright red hair (other than just going to a salon - so expensive!) is what you said - to bleach it light and then dye over it. BUT I've found some dyes that are supposed to be great for red hair. They have both natural reds and unnatural, and they're made for dark hair because they have lightening agents in them. I haven't used them myself yet, but that's because I'm letting my hair recover from my last bleaching before I do anything. Anyways, they're called L'Oreal Excellence HiColor. They have several versions of red, and they can be found at a beauty supply store like Sally's Beauty Supply. Now, the directions are a little more intricate than your normal work it in, rinse it out dye, but it's not too bad. You need to apply it to all of the hair not including roots for the first amount of time, then you put it on the roots for the last amount of time. That keeps the color even since the bleaching can be intensified by the heat from your head. Here's a ...

I think you could try it! Since you seem to have some experience I'd give it a go. But don't yell at me if it doesn't work! :D

If you *** up doing it I'd love to see some pictures of the final result. I've wanted to see exactly how it would turn out... :)

WOW that's a lot of writing hahahaha
Hope I helped!

Yeah that would be bleaching, if your hair is a dark color and you want to go lighter that's what you do. Not regular dye you gotta bleach it and I don't mean this kind of bleach
hair dark color lighter regular dye gotta bleach bleach bleach container
And don't bleach your hair regularly cause then it will feel like hay.
dye gotta bleach bleach bleach hair regularly feel hay hay
I've only bleached my hair twice.

Yeah I use to color my hair all kinds of colors which is difficult to keep up so I stopped that and I'm looking for a job so I need to get my hair a natural color.
