****, they've replaced tellers with ATMs, roboburger is right around the corner, you can buy movie tickets online or at a kiosk at the theater, and women have their battery operated boyfriends... Technology is marching on!!!

No they don't. Because we have the technology now which was theoretical years back means nothing has changed as much as you feel it has. Programming still uses algorithms as it did years ago I was an engineer not a technician as the tech's world has changed but not the design of the new toys. Basics always remain the same and base2 gives a lot of 0 & 1's. Big deal.. Because something gets bigger or faster or whatever just means the engineering problems have been overcome not that anything changed in the basics.

Far from it. The basics never go out of mode. You act as the laws of physics are now different or mathematics or game theory or flow patterns have changed they haven't. All advancements are based on what went before and you make a short sighted argument that what I learned isn't used, it is.

They won't as cost ******** won't bear it up. **** what they taught is what you have today and what they are teaching now is what you will have 40 years from now. Don't ****** something til it is fact.

AI has been around for years and I was taught it in Engineering Management 40 years ago. Its nothing new. The desktop computer wiped out many management jobs. Scanners on documents and using specialized programs to find things has been around for approx 30 years. Machines still break down and components fry and pipes break and skilled people are still needed. English Lit degrees go down the tubes and a number of others as worthless to job skills. What else is new. Computers are a tool and that's all they are. If you put credence in that video then computers will eliminate you as you aren't needed literally. All the machines do is increase efficiency allowing a small number to produce the food and other things true but that efficiency gave the ability of others to be freed to do other things.

No it won't. Its a reaction to what you are putting on the system. Those who get skills and education will do fine. Your uneducated masses who are basically parasites are in a world of hurt. So don't get your hopes up.

Truck drivers are on a short notice soon to be extinct. I predict the first car that can park itself will be called the _____ Valet, followed shortly by the first coast to coast robot 18 wheelers called the i-mack.

Well, the post office isn't doing as well as they use to.Cameras have taken over toll plazas on the expressways.Airline ticket takers have been replaced w/ self help and it is happening at some grocery stores.

We see that all the time and it is very bad. They are trying to replace cashiers for self-serve machines in several stores and supermarkets, but I never use them, I want to support jobs. Receiptionists are now answering computarized answering machines, the factories work with less people everyday, in some places computers drive trains, travel agencies are less and less everyday because people uses the internet, the list goes on and on.

I plan to buy a robot that will replace me. . .and pay my bills. . .and maybe give me a reach around. . . :-)

In short, by the time a robot can replace me, I'll be retired and. . .well. . .pretty much not giving a ****.
