Are you looking for a better job? Don't worry, you're not alone. The rate at which people are quitting their jobs, has increased sharply. The Bureau of Labor Statistics is reporting, that the amount of people quitting their jobs has risen by 2% and it has not improved in over a decade.

Actually, seven out of ten Americans are opting out -- due to unhealthy workplace cultures. They site reasons such as too much stress and feeling unsupported, as reasons why they are leaving. They believe that there are better jobs out there and they would rather quit, then remain where they are right now.

When you have too much stress, you begin to feel ill. Then you start to gain weight and the next thing you know -- your seeking temporary relief with alcohol and drugs. So, what can the workplace do to stop this trend?

First you need effective leaders who seek to understand their employees. They need to get need to give workers a sense of identity and value. This can only happen if they listen to their employees and stop treating them like clock punchers.

If leaders are willing to boost their employees moral and build a better environment, they will stimulate their employees and create an atmosphere of innovation. Do you feel like you're valued at your job or are you looking for something better?

My resume has visited all 50 states in the union and most of the provinces in Canada, but I've had the greatest success in North Carolina. I'm scheduled for an interview with Proctor and Gamble in January as a Production Engineer. I'm just hope the weather holds off that day because the interview is some 260 miles from my place of residence here in Virginia.

Don't show people the exact job you're going for, you'll get more competition by doing that.

They are taking no more applications nor are the required entrance tests being given. As far as interview questions are concerned, we had to write a paragraph of what we knew. Those same essay questions is part of the interview process. As far as competition is being concerned, that problem is already being weeded out. Thanks for your concern anyway.

As far as my supervisor is concerned, I came to work back in March with several books about resume writing. I even pulled them out, held up the book that I was reading, and broadcasted what I was doing. He seen and so did everyone else. In fact, I had another supervisor laugh at the little stunt that I pulled.

I like my job. I might be able to make a few more dollars somewhere else, but I'm content to have the working conditions I have for a few dollars less.

You can't live without money, but money isn't everything.

Oh wow.....that would NOT be a good trade anymore. Once upon a time, WalMart was one of the best companies to work for. That came to a real fast *** when the board of directors found out they could increase stock prices by 2 points by screwing over everyone that wasn't in the board of directors.

I wish I wasn't put in the position of having to run 2 companies..to work so **** to pay for the YES 47 % who pay NOTHING. To know providing for my family rests upon my shoulders.

I could oh so easily take an SSI disability check but NO. Instead I chose to climb Mt. Washington. Some of us succumb to take the east road, make excuses and some of us excel regardless of limitations..

Choose wisely... live with integrity.
